The Bonehead Compendium
We're back to our more regular form this week, folks as we bring you George Bush's latest distracting efforts to deflect some attention from Tom DeLay's indictments, Bill Frist's own personal SEC investigation and, well, who knows what else? The Pentagon is still screwing over the troops, no one knows what the hell is going on in Iraq, least of all Rumsfeld and we revisit an old story with a new and amusing twist. Bill Bennett is a dunce and Italian girls just wanna have fun; no wagering, please.

After the criticism of his disastrous handling the Katrina disaster, President George Bush promises a reconstruction programme of $200bn for areas destroyed by the hurricane. But the first and biggest beneficiaries will be businesses that specialise in profiting from disaster, and have already had lucrative contracts in Iraq; they will gentrify New Orleans at the expense of its poor, black citizens. Analysis by Mike Davis, author of "City of Quartz", "Ecology of Fear", and other critical works.
