The United States Congress has voted for going to war with Iraqâ€" failing in its duty to represent a deeply divided American public. For people around the world who are troubled by what this conflict could bring, the vote in Congress is distressing since US military action now seems all but inevitable. There are still ways, however, to express your opposition to a war on Iraq and stop this invasion.

In commemoration of 22oct02, the international day of protests against police brutality this Angry Black Men photoessay represents photos that I have taken, over the years, at three different anti-police brutality protests in WDC.

On 12oct02, in WDC, Damu Smith of Black Voices For Peace mobalized a National Witness For Peace With Justice Protest whereby more than 300 protesters rallied and picketed in front of the White House for more than 2 1/2 hours. These photos were taken in Lafayette Park across the White House when after the march Damu Smith asked demonstrators to encircle him for a Closing Prayer whereby he thanked all for having contributed to a succesful march.
