This Wednesday, March 30th at 7pm in room 0220 Jimenez Hall at the University of Maryland, the Maryland Action Collective, Student Global AIDS Campaign and Students And Workers Unite will present a discussion of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank and why activists will protest their meetings in DC on the weekend of April 16th.
Speakers will discuss how IMF and World Bank lending policies have affected agriculture and food security, the global HIV/AIDS pandemic, and the aftermath of December's tsunami.
The panelists' statements will be followed by an open discussion period. This event is free and open to the public.
The University of Maryland College Park campus is north of Washington next to US Route 1 (Baltimore Avenue), near the College Park station on the Green Line metro, which is also a stop for the MARC train, Camden line. A free shuttle bus runs from the metro station to parking lot HH, just outside Jimenez, approximately once every 10 minutes.
