By the way, last night, CNN News Night dedicated the entire program to "Weather Extremes", focusing on the events of the last few months, but when it came time for analysis, they brought on "weather scientist" Pat Michaels of Virginia Tech and the (ultra right) Cato Institute, who dismissed any talk of a pattern of change. Ross Gelbspan, writer of The Heat is On, has identified Michaels as the recepient of huge amounts of upfront money ($165K in one 5year period in the '90s) from energy companies, he is one of the very few (under 10) "climatologists" who the media present as global warming skeptics, to make it seem as if the notion is "controversial", when in fact over 99% of climatologists say otherwise.
