On Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 2, a group of activists in the Baltimore area are encouraging the community to ask for something better than what we've been told is our choice. Think beyond voting...how can we really make change? What can each of us do, all year round, in our own neighborhoods?

In celebration of this, you are all invited to share a skill, an issue, a song, a poem, a dance or just your lovely self on Election Day as we Reclaim the Streets!

SHORT MARCH TO THE PARTY AT 1PM
AT A SURPRISE LOCATION WE WILL RECLAIM THE STREET!!!
MUSIC, DANCING, BIKES, FREE FOOD, COSTUMES, FUN!!!

Reclaim the who? What's this all about?

Are you fed up with stolen elections? Fed up with contests of who can please multinational corporations the best, masquerading as electoral politics? Fed up with being lied to by our so-called leaders and the media? Fed up with phony reasons for a war to benefit a few at the expense of the masses and the truth? Come and reclaim your voice, get engaged in our community, get active and Reclaim the Streets!

Why isn't voting enough?

Many people vote one day, every four years. We our told this is our voice to ask for the society we wish to see. But so many of us are discouraged, especially this time around, because our vote for any of the choices available will never be enough to even begin to create the changes we want. But there are ways we can be actively, directly making change in our communities every day, instead of voting for someone to represent our interests every Election Day. Whether it's feeding the hungry, campaigning for a cleaner environment, seeking and sharing the truth about what's going on, or raising our children to be responsible, conscientious members of society, we can "vote" for a better world with our everyday actions. This do-it-yourself democracy is what Reclaim the Streets is all about. This November 2, please joing other members of the Baltimore community in saying enough is enough, and celebrating our power to make a positive difference.

Anyone who gives a hoot(or needs a jump-start) about what happens to this country and the world is welcome to come out and Reclaim the Streets! Please come just to party with us, but if you can sing, dance, play an instrument, share a skill, bang on something...come to share your talent. This will be a festive event; wear your Hallowen costume!

Don't get discouraged and don't feel powerless this Election Day. Get energized, get active, get inspired and GET OUT TO RECLAIM THE STREETS!
