Once again, we will be bringing our message about the starvation and genocide in Darfur to the attention of others as we demand that our government act now to stop this atrocity that is resulting in more deaths and suffering daily. We
will gather in front of the Baltimore City Republican Party headquarters at 4:30pm and subsequently march to Park Avenue & Chase across from Congressman Cummings office. We expect a large contingent of Sudanese refugees to be present, at least across from Cummings office about 5:15. With some new signs (see below), they will be calling on Cummings and Lt. Gov. Steele to take some action.

STOP THE STARVATION & GENOCIDE IN DARFUR (SUDAN)

Press Conference, Rally & March
Tuesday, October 5th
Baltimore City Republican Party Headquarters
2516 N. Charles Street
Gather for rally at 4:30 PM
About 5:00 PM we will march to US Congressman Elijah Cummings office for press conference & rally, 1010 Park Avenue

We will be displaying signs such as:
Cong. Cummings; We Are From Darfur. Why Won’t You Save Us From Starvation? Lt. Gov. Steele2; We Are From Darfur. Save Our People From Starvation Cong. Cummings & Lt. Gov. Steele; Your ancestors’ children are starving in Darfur. WHERE IS YOUR HUMANITY? Cong. Cummings & Lt. Gov. Steele; We Are the Jews of Africa, Darfur Is Our Holocaust. DO SOMETHING!

Darfur in Western Sudan now faces the worst humanitarian crisis in the world, with 50,000 people already killed and more than a million internally displaced. International aid organizations say 350,000 may still die even if humanitarian relief arrives now. The UN Security Council passed a resolution that gave the Khartoum government 30 days to stop the conflict or face punitive measures. Every day of inaction results in more deaths, more suffering. The people of Baltimore and Sudanese refugees gather in front of the Republican Party headquarters in Baltimore every Tuesday to demand that our government do what the American people want it to do; feed the starving people and stop the genocide. We can’t sit idly by allowing another Rwanda to occur, and then profess our sorrow 10 years later.

We then march to Rep. Cummings office to repeat our demands and call on him to use his influence to have the Kerry campaign make American inaction a major campaign issue.
