FOREIGN POLICY IN FOCUS SNEAK PREVIEW

"Uncovered: The War on Iraq"

Thursday, Aug. 12

10 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Institute for Policy Studies
733 15th Street, NW, Suite 1020
(Corner of 15th and H Streets)
Washington, DC 20005

Followed by Q&A with former CIA official Ray McGovern and The Nation's Washington editor David Corn.

Foreign Policy In Focus will screen this new feature-length documentary at the Institute for Policy Studies. Produced and directed by Robert Greenwald, the film relies largely on the insight of former intelligence officials as it chronicles the deception used by the Bush administration in justifying and staging the U.S. invasion and occupation of Iraq.

"Uncovered" will open in New York, Boston & Washington on Aug. 20, and Los Angeles & San Francisco on Aug. 27. An hour-long version of this film was screened previously across the nation in people's homes at MoveOn.org house parties. Cinema Libre co-produced the new 83-minute version of the documentary. The film includes interviews with the two guest speakers.

Available for Interviews:

Ray McGovern, a member of Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity (VIPS), is a 27-year veteran of the CIA and other U.S. intelligence work. VIPS is a non-partisan group of retired intelligence professionals who believe that the Bush administration lied about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and inappropriately pressured the CIA to "cook the books" on the matter.
