North American Anarchist Convergence

The North American Anarchist Convergence 2004 will take place in Athens, Ohio, August 13-15.
The North American Anarchist Convergence 2004 will take place in Athens, Ohio, August 13-15. This convergence will be a gathering for anyone interested in anarchism, from beginners to long time anarchists, to give us all a chance to meet and discuss, brainstorm, and learn from each other. We hope that this gathering will bring people together and open channels of discussion and debate, so that we can better build connections and communities, and have the opportunity to discuss what anarchism means and how to live in practice with our beliefs.
Join us for 3 days of sharing, learning, and merrymaking. Speakers will include Howard Ehrlich, founder of the magazine Social Anarchism, with a talk entitled "How to get from here to there--building a revolutionary transfer culture", The Ontario Coalition Against Poverty, an internet conference with Ann Hansen, author of “Direct Action”, and local activist Art Gish. Other events planned include films, soccer, and music by David Rovics, Soophie Nun Squad, Defiance Ohio, and others. Workshops and discussions will include basics of anarchist philosophy, permaculture and communities, pirate radio, voting, anarcha-feminism, history of the black block, violence vs. non violence, radical consent, intro to post-left anarchism, the prison industrial complex, how to organize with the IWW, and facilitation and consensus.
Housing is limited, so please register as soon as possible to ensure that we can find you a place to sleep. To register to attend, make a donation, or for more information, visit our website at www.naac2004.org.
