CCBC-Dundalk Ethics Day Discussion- Do Animals Have Rights?
Here is an e-mail I recieved from my labor studies department about Animal Rights discussion for Ethics Day. Any and all interested parties can attend.
Good morning, everyone. I met some people at Professional Development Day yesterday who hadn't yet heard about our Ethics Day speaker here at Dundalk. Tom Regan, who is the recognized leader of the animal rights movement, will be our keynote speaker at 9:30 a.m. on April 17th in the
Dundalk theatre. His talk is entitled "Do Animals Have Rights?"
In addition to Regan, we will have animal welfare/rights and vegetarian groups on campus during the day to talk to attendees and present them with information.
The groups scheduled to table are:
1. The University of Maryland School of Law Student Animal Legal Defense Fund
2. The American Anti-Vivisection Society
3. Earthsave
4. The Humane Society of Baltimore County
5. The Farm Animal Reform Movement
6. The Animal Welfare Institute
7. The Fund for Animals
8. The Animals Agenda, international animal rights magazine whose editor will be on our panel about vegetarianism
9. Days End Farm Horse Rescue
10. PETA
11. The Vegetarian Resource Group
We hope you will join us for an exciting, enlightening discussion about the rights of animals.
