Want to take a trip to Boston and New York this summer?
Here's Baltimore's chance to take action protesting the DNC and RNC!
The DC Anti-War Network (DAWN) is mobilizing DC-area people for the July Democratic National Convention in Boston and the August/September Republican National Convention in New York.
We have formed a broad-based coalition of peace and social justice groups to get you there, find you housing, and help you once we are there.
We also plan a summer of action here in DC. One thing we’ve already planned is for William Rivers Pitt, editor of Truthout.org, to headline a conventions-related event.
If you are an individual or group anywhere between Richmond and Baltimore and want to go to Boston or New York, please join our very low volume conventions announcement listserve. To join, send an email to
dc-dnc-rnc-protest-announce-subscribe (at) lists.riseup.net and answer the
confirmation email. To be more involved in the planning process, join the discussion listserve by sending an email to
dc-dnc-rnc-protest-discuss-subscribe (at) lists.riseup.net.
Attend our next DC Conventions Meeting, Thursday, May 6, 7-9 PM (location to be announced), or DAWN meetings every Tuesday night at AFSC, 2211 14th St
NW, 7-9 PM.
The DC DNC-RNC Protest Coalition presently consists of:
DAWN, SOA Watch, Mobilization for Global Justice, Code Pink, Critical Resistance, peace groups at Howard University, Veterans for Peace ch. 016,
and Jews for Peace in Palestine and Israel
