Mayor Martin O'Malley wants to add a South-bound lane on Charles Street. Bicyclists, pedestrians and businesses would prefer it if a bicycle lane was added instead.
European cities which expand access to bicyclists and pedestrians experience tremendous economic growth and a more relaxed lifestyle. We want the Mayor to experiment with a bicycle lane on Charles Street between New Orleans and Saratoga Streets!
Enclosed is a letter to Mayor O'Malley and a signature page. Interested parties should print them out and gather signatures. Then bring the sheets in good condition to Critical Mass.
Critical Mass is a bicycle ride which meets the last Friday of every month at Charles and Redwood Streets at 5:30 p.m. The ride begins around 6:00 p.m. No one is its spokesperson or leader. This campaign originates from individual members of Critical Mass but not the group as a whole.
