The City of Baltimore is preparing to re-negotiate it's contract with Comcast for cable services, and public access is a vital public service that must be supported and adequately funded in any new cable franchise agreement. In order for this to happen, the citizens of Baltimore must make it known that public access matters to them and should therefore matter to their elected officials. There is to be a public hearing with Comcast, sponsored by the Mayor's Office of Cable and Communications, addressing public access in Baltimore. Anyone who wants their views heard or who simply wants to show their support and stand in solidarity with those who are fighting for the survival of public access should make every effort to attend this hearing.
