Public Events: What is Empire?

Empire Curator David Little will be joined by David Harvey, professor in the City University of New York's graduate program in anthropology and author of "The New Imperialism" (Oxford University Press), exhibiting artist Paul Chan (Rockefeller Foundation New Media Arts Fellow), and Baltimore Sun and The Economist political cartoonist KAL.
The speakers will discuss the current scholarly thinking about the nature of "empire" in the world today, and relate that to issues raised by the MICA exhibit, "Empire: Videos for a New World," which opened February 5, and runs Sunday throught March 14 in MICA’s Meyerhoff Gallery.
