What makes an 'electable' candidate?

Billions of people across the planet are praying for America to replace Bush with someone that will put an end to the multinational-conglomerate looting of our planet. This is our chance to turn the world around, the question is: Who is the real candidate for change that will restore America and put People Over Profits?

First off, a close examination of the big $$ media and their role is in order. Are they telling you the whole truth?

Thanks to Dubya, the corruption of our government has been exposed for all to see.  We now know that the Bush and his cronies actually lied to start a war for oil.  Buried Story #1- they lied to Congress.  Senators were told in a closed door session that Iraq had UAVs capable of reaching the East Coast- this LIE was a major factor in their vote to give Bushinc the power to wage war.

The Nukes, Chemical Weapons, Saddam's ties to Al Qaeda and the Imminent Threat- all lies that millions of us knew before the war. With all of the lies now exposed, we cannot forget that the Corporate Media helped push the lies and sell the war.  Bushinc couldn't of had this war of conquest without the assistance of the $$ media.  Sometimes it's outright lies, but more often it's the buried stories that create the 'lack of understanding leading us away from unity'.

Lies of Omission and
The mass media is diversion programming- telling us what news is important and repeating it over and over.  Everyone knows Brittney got married and Jacko was arrested, but most people didn't hear these stories:

US was Caught Spying on the Security Council a week before the big vote on Iraq.  The resolution was pulled because the US was going to lose bigtime.

UN voted recently (144-4) to condemn Israel's 26 ft concrete wall- paid for by US taxpayers?  Talk about defying UN Resolutions- 144 nations condemn Israel for building this wall- Israel, backed by the US, flips 'em the bird.  The world sees the injustice, many Americans do not.  Why?

December 2003- UN votes 173-1(USA).  Incredibly the US defied the entire world on the NUCLEAR  Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty and refused to cooperate. Bushinc is spending our money developing suitcase Nukes, and they want to test them.  Are these policies the will of the people?  I think not.

Does anyone still believe that there is Anti-American sentiment in the world because we're, "the brightest beacon of freedom"?  Time: Europe had a poll with 86% voting the US as the greatest threat to world peace.... this is in Europe!  Did you miss the news that day, or did the ABCNNBCBS simply not cover it?

The $$ Media and 'Electable' Candidates
Now this same corporate media tells us that there are six electable candidates in the Democratic race for Pres.  Of these six, Howard Dean is The Anti-War Candidate and that's why he's leading in the polls.  Dean's got the most money and he's everywhere, the cover of Time- again, there's a  CNN special, Dean is the most liberal of the 'major' candidates and the great hope of the Left.

Every Google News article on the Dem Race has Dean in it, with the other electable five thrown in sporadically- rarely do the unelectable three (Moseley-Braun, Sharpton & Kucinich) get a mention.  That's why Howard Kurtz of the Washington Post cracked me up with his artcle, How the Press Decides Winners - he only mentions the electable six.

Could the $$ media coverage of the Dem race involve more distortion and half-truths?  They buried important news before, what makes you think things are different now?  Hmmm, multinational corporations still own the media.  They still care more about enriching themselves than contributing toward a sustainable planet.  Nothing's changed.  It's still all spin- only the electable (profitable) get the coverage.

Look at their modus operandi: Flood the news with what they want us to believe (that which is profitable), and suppress anything that might harm profits.  Take a look at the tv today, who are they pumping and why?

The poll numbers are repeated often to manufacture consent for the chosen candidates.  The press tells us who is popular in the polls... and the sheeple must follow, you can almost hear them whispering in your ear.  Only 2% like that guy, they're the fringe wackos- you don't want to be associated with them do you?  Common sense tells you not to waste your vote on an unelectable.  You do have common sense don't you?  Be sensible and just vote for one of these select 'major' candidates.

They forgot to tell you who selected the six to put before you, and who de-selected the other three.

Electable vs. Unelectable

Health Care
The electable candidates all have a health care plan that would cover additional citizens within our current system.  The unelectables all support Health Care for all, Dennis Kucinich takes it even further and boldly claims that we can END HEALTH CARE FOR PROFIT.  Take a moment and consider the implications of this.

You know when someone goes in for a surgery like Jennifer K, she needed an emergeny appendectomy- couple of hours on the table: $24,000.  It doesn't have to cost this much.  The spiral in costs is due to the system of hospitals for profit and the drug and insurance industries.  For two hours of work this young woman will be paying off her bills for years.  Money she earns she cannot use to improve her life, she must pay the boardroom first.

Dennis Kucinich wants to end health insurance, take these leeches out of the system and provide Health CARE for all.  The money that is currently going towards advertising, stock dividends and huge executive bonuses could be spent on providing actual care for Americans.  Clearly this man is a threat to American profit margins, he is utterly unelectable.  Dean, the 'liberal electable', will provide free prescription drugs for all Americans.  Some might view this as a huge gift to the pharmaceutical industry, and the drugs as not really free since it's our tax money.  Dr. Dean also lost credibility as a 'man of the people' when 8,000 doctors signed the Health Care for All Proposal, and he didn't.  How can you blame him, if he signed, he'd be in the 'unelectable' category before the ink was dry.

The Occupation of Iraq
The big lie here- that Iraqis are happier and better off since the invasion.  The media failed to report on the stories of cluster bombs killing children, the US tanks bulldozing houses, troops getting tips from Israeli Military Advisors- and we all know how successful Israel's policies have been in creating peace.  If I were cynical, I'd think that the policy was created to sell bullets.  Think about it, with constant conflict for 30 yrs, somebody has gotten rich selling military hardware to both sides of the Israeli conflict.

Now Iraq is a whole lot bigger than Israel,  and the military is already using 4 million rounds/month, not to mention all the gas (tanks get 2 gals/mi).   Easy money, paid for by you and your kids!  Another $$ media lie of omission- the pentagon 'lost' $1 TRILLION dollars- as well as planes, tanks and missiles!

The electable candidates all agree that we can't 'cut and run' from Iraq.  Yet we all know that the occupation of Iraq is a huge jackpot for American Corporations, this is their $160 billion dollar gravy train and that's just for this year.  Do you think they want to end that anytime soon?  Dean has stated we'll probably be in Iraq for a few years, thus he passes the 'electability test'.  Is this a candidate for change?

What makes Kucinich unelectable is his notion that Bushinc actually give up control of the oil and any ideas of installing a puppet regime. What a kook, they tell us, to suggest that we give control of the oil and the reconstruction to the Iraqi people via the UN.  No more, no bid contracts for Haliburton and Bechtel? "Preposterous! Unelectable!" they shouted.

NAFTA & WTO
Fact: Millions of manufacturing jobs have left America since the inception of 'free trade'. Just last week  Levi's closed it's last US factories.  This is more than just numbers on paper, these are American families losing their livelihood, struggling thanks to "Free Trade".  Look thru all of your holiday gifts this year and see if you can find anything  Made in America.  Our gifts included products from China, Malaysia, Vietnam, India, Mexico, Honduras, Brunei, Madagascar and many more.  The legislative founding father of the WTO in the House of Representatives was Richard Gephardt- electable #2.

NAFTA and the WTO allow corporations to hire people in other nations for pennies on the dollar, with no environmental regulations- whoopee!  Now they can skim off the top and increase profits, hit the quarterly target and get the stock option bonus.  The electable candidates vary with some in full support of this policy of greed, none are as bold at taking on the multinationals as DK.  Kucinich will cancel both trade agreements his 1st day in office as he says free trade does not equal fair trade.  That's immediate change!

The New Military Draft
What do you think about the upcoming military draft?  If you're 18-26 you could be drafted to fight in America's new permawar.  "That's ridiculous,"  I'm told, "we'll never have the draft again."  Nonetheless, the pentagon has put 'stop loss' orders out regarding military enlistment.  So far, 47,000 soldiers have been prevented from returning to their civilian life.  At least 16,000 of these are national guard or reservists, serving in the Army when they should be home with their kids.

You know the 2 weekends a month, 2 weeks a year deal- to help pay for college.  Well, some kids have finished their committment, yet they cannot leave the army- they are forced to remain in Iraq against their wishes.  Dennis Kucinich has stated that this is in fact a draft, forcing our own citizens to serve against their will.  Nearly 500 soldiers killed, thousands seriously maimed and thousands more with 'non-combat ailments' (which are still officially unexplained, although many see the Anthrax vaccinations and DU as the likely culprits).

Combine this info with the fact that the pentagon is hiring to fill the vacant 3000 draft board seats nationwide.  Add a little Tommy Franks suggestion that the next big terror attack will bring martial law to America, things aren't looking good.  Then you toss in the Patriot Act, Terror Threat Level, and the knowledge that there are two bills in congress to reinstate the draft and you think, "this is getting scary".  Could all this be really be happening right under our noses?  Then you say, well at least we have three daughters, and all is well..... until you find out that this draft bill calls for mandatory service for all men and women 18-26....... this is the point where you freak out.

Are you angry yet?  You should be.

Step one: Get it out. Walk over to the window, open it, and yell, "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore!"  Repeat often.

Step two: Talk to everyone you know about issues they'll care about- the draft, poisons in our food, perpetual war. Show them the underreported stories- pop the corporate media bubble.  Talk about it in line at the post office, at the bank and the store- invent some good conversation starters like, "So, if there's a draft, will you be sending your kids?"

"Our lives begin to end the day that we become silent about things that matter."  - Martin Luther King Jr.

People Over Profits
This Election is really about the People vs. the Corporations.  We have the  corporate media  selected  'major' candidates, and those not endorsed by corporations.  Does anyone believe that the more money one raises, the more qualified the candidate?  He has the most money, thus he is a man of the people. Huh?   Seems to me that that would indicate the best whore in the whorehouse.

This election is about ending corporate greed and restoring the true ideals of America- putting people first, raising the quality of life for all.  By choosing a non-corporate candidate, you are voting to end the greed and return America to a nation of where decisions are made with intent to help people rather than increase profits.  We do not need a candidate that will work with the current system, the time is now to completely change the system.

Iowa's Time to Shine
The people of Iowa have a chance to expose the media's manufactured polls and jumpstart the Peaceful Revolution.   This is the moment people, we can turn this world on a dime.  We can end the terror and begin building our world of peace and sustainability.  Vote electable and you'll get more of the same: billions spent on the occupation of Iraq while our schools crumble.  It doesn't have to be this way.

You can help stop the corporate greed.  Get all of your friends, and all of their friends, and go to the caucus and do your part to end this American nightmare.

Don't believe the big $$ media:  Vote Unelectable.
