From November 19-21 over 40 people from the Baltimore area are going to Miami to confront the FTAA (Free Trade Area of the Americas). What they will be facing is an over $8.5 million dollar federally backed budget, over 2500 heavily armed police and an 8 foot "anarchist" proof wall surronding the entire meeting site.
What will you be doing?

Help Organize Solidarity Rally in Baltimore
November 19-21 thousands of activists will be in Miami protesting the Free Trade Area of the Americas ministerial meetings. Many will be coming from Baltimore. Direct action will be part of the protest tactics. But will the Bush administration respond like that the Fox administration in Cancun, Mexico at the recent ministerial of the World Trade Organization--with little violence and repression? Likely not.
Typically, the US government spends $1.5 million on security at major protests in Washington DC. The Bush administration included $8.5 million of the $87 billion for 'reconstruction' in Iraq to be used for 'security' in Miami at the FTAA meetings, and the Congress passed it all.
