Every reason we were told to justify the war and
occupation of Iraq has been revealed to be a lie.
There are no weapons of mass destruction, there was no
tie between Saddam Hussein and the attacks on 9/11,
and there is no timeline to actually end the
occupation and let the Iraqi people control their own
country and lives.
Instead we have an oil colony in the Middle East
costing billions while budgets are slashed here at
home. We have millions of Iraqis still without water
or electricity. We have the daily deaths of US
soldiers and Iraqis for no reason other than extending
the power and reach of George W. Bush and the US
government.
Come join with the UMD Peace Forum, the
Muslim Students Association, and the Campus Anti-War
Network for a panel called Speaking Truth to Empire.
We will focus on the mass anti-war demonstrations in
DC on October 25th, sponsored by ANSWER and United for
Peace and Justice, and how we can build a long term
movement against war and occupation.
