October 4th Protest at NSA

Join the Pledge of Resistance-Baltimore on October 4th as it protests the National Security Agency.
Noam Chomsky makes the point that "silence equals consent." What he means is that those who oppose their government but say little or nothing against it are effectively fully behind it.

Anyone out there want to make John Ashcroft anxious, sweaty, uncomfortable and a Nervous wreck? Then come on out to a noon protest at the National Security Agency on October 4th!

The Pledge of Resistance-Baltimore is putting it on. It will be NON-VIOLENT and peaceful. We will meet at the American Friends Service Committee on Saturday morning, October 4th. (AFSC is at 4806 York Road. Call Max, 410-323-7200). Those who want to make signs are meeting at 10:00 a.m. The car-pool departs at 11:00 a.m. SHARP! (Protest is at noon. We depart at 1:30 p.m.)

The First Amendment states that "Congress shall make no law...abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances." The Pledge takes these words SERIOUSLY. We are going to deliver a letter to the head of the National Security Agency because it is our Constitutional right to do so.

Those who do not wish to stand by while our Constitutional rights are jeopardized are invited to participate. (We're serious about the non-violent part, however. We follow Aung San Suu Kyi, Martin Luther King and other practitioners of nonviolent resistance.)

It is time for all good patriots to defend the US Constitution. Please come out for this civil exercise in disobedience on behalf of liberty.
