Summer’s here and the time is right for a radical dance party in the
streets of Baltimore! Come get down with the Pink Bloque on their
‘Unjustified’ Tour...
On Tuesday, August 5th at 5:30 the Pink Bloque, a radical feminist dance
troupe hailing from Chicago, IL will be in Baltimore at the Creative
Alliance, 3134 Eastern Ave. At that time, the Pink Bloque will be hosting
a workshop that discusses dance as an effective protest tactic for
creating a spectacle, teaches participants dancemoves, and culminates in
a hot political dance party on your streets! Participants should wear
pink.
Why you ask? We bring the radical booty shake to street protest and
demonstrations to make radical politics fun again. The Pink Bloque uses
today’s pop hits, cute outfits, and dance routines to engage activists and
non-activists alike in creative resistance.
Resistance to what? The Pink Bloque is multi-issue group, but this summer
our focus will be on ending occupation at home (meaning government
encroachment on civil liberties and corporate control of public and
private spheres) and abroad (the US’soccupation of Iraq, and US
Imperialism throughout the world).
Where will the Pink Bloque be doing these actions? The Pink Bloque is
touring the East Coast stopping in the following cities:

More about who we are and just what we think were doing: The Pink Bloque
wantedto give the protest scene an extreme makeover ! We found some of
the radical left’s‘60s protest tactics and didactic rhetoric alienating -
so we decided to make protests more fun and more visually engaging by
using the sounds, images and lingo of contemporary corporate popular
culture. We believe in the possibility of change one dance step at a time
