In the aftermath of the York, PA anti-nazi protests, several people need legal support and aid. About 23 York community members and anti-racist activists were arrested for charges ranging from summary level disorderly conduct to felony assault on a police horse. The cops snatched up random people including a local woman trying to protect her niece after being hit by a neo-nazi's car, arresting people who were pushed by police horses (both of which are animal lovers and would never abuse an animal), and local kids.

As of 4PM on Monday, January 14, one anti-racist activist is still being held at the York County Jail on $10,000 bail. This person was arrested after allegedly smashing a nazi's car towards the end of Saturday's events. He is being held on two misdemanor charges. Most of the money for his bail has been raised; we are just waiting to find a bail bondsman that will work with us in this situation.

The folks working on jail support are doing great work thus far and are caling out for extended support from the greater anti-racist community. This call for support includes a request for names and contact info for sympathetic lawyers in the York, Philadelphia, Harrisburg, PA area or anyone willing to travel for a few appearances. We would love court room support to let the judge know this is a big deal with a lot of community attention. We are also requesting monetary support for the legal effort.
