As we all know BIO DEV was supposed to be this week in D.C, but as many of us found, there was no information explaining what was going on. The reason being is because the people in charge felt it would be better to focus all efforts on Sacramento. But rather than bitch and moan about it, a few of us have decided to do something. As of right now little is planned, but much can be done. We will be meeting at Dupont Circle, on the fountain steps, at 9:00 in the morning on Saturday. From there we will take the metro to a location we will discuss when we meet, for protection from police. If you do not choose to meet us that early, we will be at “Health Fest”, which is occurring on the National Mall from 10-3. Look for a bright yellow Food Not Bombs banner. Though we would really like people to meet us at Dupont in case we are shut down right away. We plan on serving either an organic fruit salad or just organic fruits to the many naïve patrons attending the free festival all day. We will also be handing out literature on the truths about GMO, organic, and bio-technology. We can discuss what and how we would like to go about our activities when we all meet, but signs, megaphones, and street theatres may want to be prepared in advance. We really need all activist in the DC area to attend this event as we can not sit back while these lies are being told in our own backyard.
