There is no more outspoken Democrat on Capitol Hill right now than the
grand old man, Senator Robert Byrd of West Virginia. Byrd is a true American
institution – a man who has evolved with his times, journeying from a 1950s-
style mindset in which whites and money ruled, to a global, diversity-
conscience openness that rejects money and war as the only solutions to
problems. It has been Byrd who has fearlessly confronted Bush at every one
of the “resident’s” oily twists and turns. But, unfortunately for Byrd,
Bush is a spiteful, vengeful little man who, just like his protégé Tom
Delay, sees nothing wrong in using the NSA, CIA, FBI and all the resources
of his “personal security agency,” better known as Homeland
Security to try to destroy “enemies.” And, Byrd is, without doubt one of
Bush’s primary domestic “enemies.”

Bush knows better than to go after Byrd directly, however. Even if he
doesn’t, his stable of ruthless operatives, which include Karl Rove, Grover
Norquist, and Tom Ridge will make sure any attacks have a stealth design.
So the GOP secret police are going after Byrd’s friend and fellow leading
West Virginia Democrat: Governor Bob Wise. This is killing two Democrats
with one stone, Bush hopes: get rid of yet another pesky Democrat governor
and weaken Byrd by default. Bush hates Democrat governors – they care too
damn much about the people of their state and are always doing things like
demanding to know why they should keep cutting programs like education and
healthcare in their states to enable Bush’s enforced state of perpetual paranoia in the form of endless, pointless, costly terrorism alerts. One of the
GOP’s big pushes between now and 2004 will be to try to smear and unseat
as many Democratic governors as possible to complete their Neo-Nazi
takeover of the US.

Anyway, the attack on Bob Wise is a classic example of how the GOP “secret
police” works. First, the CIA or FBI is subverted to the case, charged with
digging up anything on a target that even looks vaguely like dirt. (Just
look what they did for the case against Iraq!). Once a promising “tidbit” is
unearthed, the spies – paid by the taxpayers, of course – report back to
HQ - the White House. Next, Karl Rove or one of the top SS officers (always
billed merely as “senior White House Officials”) call their contacts in the
corporate media and tell them what the game is going to be. The media
people,armed with the secret police-gathered info, know exactly what to do:
invoking the “Freedom of Information Act,” they demand transcripts of Bob
Wise’s e-mail correspondance between certain dates.

As it turns out, Bob Wise has been carrying on a discrete romance -- not
with an intern bimbo or a Paul Jonesque hooker, but with an intelligent,
businesslike 35-year-old state worker in W.VA’s economic development
office. I say discrete, because no blue dresses, cigars, or phone sex are
involved. The raciest of the 549 ill-gotten e-mails say things like:

“Right now I am holed up in my office eating deer jerky and drinking Diet
Pepsi while having the Daytona 500 NASCAR race on in the background.”

“In my next life, I want to run a health club.”

`On Jan 10, 2003, Wise thanked Mascia-Frye for remembering his birthday and
tells her he still feels young. [I guess if you are a paranoid religious
fanatic with absolutely no life, this might cause a gasp!]

Or here, the raciest:

Mascia-Frye: (after Wise complained he was tired) “I wonder what you did
staying up late last night?”

Wise: “When I stay up late, it’s only for worthwhile activities.”

Mascia-Frye: “I’m most certainly happy to hear that. I wouldn’t want you
to waste your time with boring activities.”

Wise: No boring activities, only intriguing ones.”

Yep, that’s it. As Wise’s press secretary Amy Goodwin said, “The
majority of these e-mails deals with economic development issues.” Yet the
GOP operatives knew there was enough to create a high-profile news story
to embarrass Wise and Byrd. How did they know? There was without doubt an
outside and highly illegal tap on Wise’s computer and phones. No wonder Tom
Delay didn’t think there was anything wrong with calling Homeland
Security to “fix things” for him in Texas when a bunch of Democrats were
giving him a hard time. Apparently, this sort of “fixing” is being done all
the time now. And, you can get your pals in the corporate media to either cover your tracks or smear your enemies to help out. The big corporazi
paper in West Virginia, the “Charleston Daily Mail,” is running a page one blurb: “Read Governor Wise’s E-mail!!” What an abuse of the media, not to
mention a criminal invasion of privacy! But what could you expect from the Mail, which is owned by MediaNews Group, which owns newspapers all across the
nation and can, through this controlled chain, create a “sensational story
of national proportions” out of nothing overnight – or kill a real story just as quickly.

But back to Wise. The relationship between him and Mascia-Frye was,
apparently, a serious romance – and handled in an adult manner. On May 12,
Wise did the right thing when confronted admitted that he had been
unfaithful to his family. Mascia-Frye obviously fessed up to her husband, who filed for divorce. There is no lying on record involved, no abuse of power,
no lurid sex-addiction-driven embarrassments – in short, no behavior to even
remotely rival the behavior routinely exhibited by nearly everyone in the
Bush administration!

But just look what you can do when you have the nation’s security forces and
media at your disposal! While Wise’s case, in which no illegal activity at
all is involved, is smeared across the headlines, just across the border
from West Virginia, GOP governor of Maryland Bob Ehrlich’s serious and
ongoing crimes against the people of Maryland and the honor of his office
have remained unreported and uninvestigated. But then, Ehrlich has friends
in high places – he’s been a frequent and pampered guest of the Bushes.
Throughout his thoroughly crooked campaign, he was ferried around the state
in a helicopter owned by FOX news execs. And, he has plenty of money and manpower to expend on his own smear campaigns against “enemies” like Democrat
activist Martin O’Malley through the corporate front group/GOP money
laundering operation known as the “Club For Growth. But don’t expect to see
Ehrlich’s transgressions reported in the mainstream news. These outfits
are
paid handsomely in all sorts of regulatory kickbacks – like the FCC
ruling on June 2 – to keep their mouths shut. And now, thanks to said FCC
ruling, while the evil of NeoCons like Ehrlich remain covered up, SS
persecution campaigns against GOP enemies – liberals all - are likely to accelerate and receive ever- more expanded coverage. In short, you can lie, cheat, steal, molest children (two Republican politicians just this year,
including the Mayor of Hartford, Ct – note the absence from the main
sections of the Washington Post or headlines at NBC or FOX!) and directly or
indirectly commit murder (Maryland’s violent crime rose thanks to the
subversion of police to the Bush “anti-terrorism” push) – that’s fine. The
only crime the media or GOP-led government will go after is adultery
committed by liberals. God Bless ‘Merica!

So Where Are the Page One Headlines About Jeb Bush’s Ongoing Love Affair with a Coworker?

That’s right. According to sources close enough to know, Jeb Bush has been
having a long-term, ongoing affair with a domineering, greedy social climber named Cynthia Henderson. The affair broke into the light of day in a few months
before 9/11 – the news came not from any media folk on the Bush take of
course, but from state troopers and other Florida employees tired of being
used to cover Jeb’s tracks or deal with Henderson’s belligerence and
incompetence in the name of keeping her in a high-paid job. Of course Jeb
denies it – but then, what Bush ever had any problem lying through their
teeth? Unlike Wise, Jeb has abused his office to advance his cutie pie,
firing a succession of decent, competent people and even rearranging or
creating entire departments just to clear the path for Cyndi’s ascent, at
one point making sure she had an office right next to his.

Unlike Mascia-Frye, whose “worst offence” was sending belated birthday
greetings with a bottle of wine, Henderson acted the part of “state
mistress” to the hilt, scooping up every advantage she could squeeze from
her connection to Bush. Here’s a quote from the MediaWhores archive:
“Henderson allegedly accepted free tickets to the Derby, free hotel accommodations in
Louisville from the Association of Racing Commissioners International, and free travel on
a private plane owned by Tampa-based Outback Steakhouse. Her office regulates both
the horse racing and restaurant industries in Florida."

So totally unsuited is Henderson for the positions given her by Bush that not just
one or two, but DOZENS of Florida state employees have resigned in protest. This is from an AP wire service report:

“Bush shifted Cynthia Henderson, secretary of the Department of Business and Professional Regulation, to another state job and received resignation letters from 45 other top managers in her agency. Henderson was mired in controversy her first year on the job in 1999, facing questions about her ethics in running the agency on several occasions.

“Bush, at a news conference with Henderson to announce the agency changes, said much of the earlier criticism was unjustified and had nothing to do with his decision. Henderson did not comment.”

And why should she? She was pulling down a cool $107,000 under the
protection of her loverboy.

Yet despite these outrageous, flagrant abuses of power and trampling of
morality, Bush’s case was handled very, very differently from Wise’s! The
corporate media immediately put their wagons in a circle to PROTECT, not
investigate, Bush. For example, not only did the rightwing attack dog
Newsmax come out with a counter attack against Democrats.com (which helped
break the story in the indy press) so aggressive you’d swear Jeb dictated
it, they made sure that their story would come up not once but several times in the top ten links of search engines when you put in “Jeb Bush” Office
romance. Even now, go to google or even the more respectable “teoma.com” and you will find the newsmax spin, but not the indy stories.

While Ordering the Wiretapping of American Citizens, Bush REFUSES to Allow ANY OF HIS COMMUNICATIONS to Ever Be Recorded

Meanwhile, G. W. Bush has PLENTY to hide, quite obviously. While creating a
situation where everyone American can now be subject to having their phones
and computers monitored, Bush himself REFUSES to allow ANY of his
conversations or email correspondance to be monitored! What a weasel and a
coward! This is the first president to demand this sort of secrecy – ever.

Even Clinton, with as much as he had to hide, did not demand secret
phone service. What this means is that the “leader” of the US, unelected and
on the payroll of the American taxpayer, REFUSES TO BE ACCOUNTABLE TO THE
AMERICAN PEOPLE. For all we know, this man could be plotting and ordering
the execution of totally illegal activities on a daily basis for
which he will never be held accountable.

Is this the America so many thousands fought and died for?
