Iraq Pledge/Baltimore keeps pressure on

The Iraq Pledge of Resistance has called for a truth commission.
Iraq Pledge of Resistance-Baltimore is calling for the creation of a Congressional hearing or truth commission on the subject of abuses of power
by the Bush administration.

The Pledge-Baltimore has written to Senators Mikulski and Sarbanes and to Representatives Cardin and Cummings detailing minimum questions that should be investigated. These include possible deception of Congress relating to
pre-war intelligence claims, use of cluster bombs and depleted uranium by U.S. forces, unlawful attacks on civilians in Iraq, failure to protect the health of members of the U.S. armed forces, corruption in the awarding of reconstruction contracts, infringements on protections under the Bill of Rights, and obstruction of the September 11 Commission.

The Pledge-Baltimore believes that Congress, as representative of the people, must oppose unbridled power in the hands of the Executive Branch.

The Pledge-Baltimore meets each Monday evening, 7:30, at American Friends Service Committee, 4806 York Road, Baltimore, two blocks north of Cold Spring Lane. Originally organized in October 2002, the Pledge is committed to nonviolent acts of civil disobedience regarding the US involvement in the affairs of the Iraqi people.
