The MTA fare increase protest was excellent! There were about 75 people who signed up to testify about the proposed public transportation rate hikes. This came after a very spirited picket line in front of the state office building with the hearing room.

City Council President Sheila Dixon showed up and walked the picket line. Then she testified against the rate hike.

That was very cool to see. Coming a day after the City Council unanimously passed a very strong resolution against the USA Patriot Act and that's two outstanding days in a row for Baltimore's activist community.
