Announcement :: Protest Activity
June 7th Rally & March : Atlanta, Georgia
As people living in the United States, our responsibility lies in acting on injustices done in our name. Right now the United States has declared that "the war is over". We know the truth, that fighting continues in both Iraq and Afghanistan, and we see that many more nations are being threatened. At home, repression increases and civil liberties are attacked. Spokespeople for the government have made it clear that it is their intention to continue to declare war on people around the world and to continue to attack immigrants and civil liberties here at home. We demand a better world!
The South has a history of racist oppression and stark division between haves and have-nots which continues today. But we also have a beautiful history of resistance. On June 7th we will continue this resistance by speaking out against endless war!
On June 7th we will have a regional demonstration against the trajectory of endless war that this government is taking. This day will begin with a permitted rally at Grant Park in Atlanta, followed by a permitted march to the King Memorial.
