Stop June 2 Media Consolidation Vote
Don't let the Federal Communications Commission remove the remaining restrictions on consolidation of media ownership.
Secretary of State Colin Powell's son, Michael Powell, who heads the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), plans to ignore the FCC's mandate to protect the public interest. On June 2, 2003, Powell and the FCC intend to lift restrictions on media ownership that could allow local newspapers, cable providers, radio stations, and TV channels all to be owned by one company. This does nothing for the public interest and everything for media corporations' profits.
