IMC ARGENTINA STAFF EVICTED!!!
EVERYBODY TO LEZAMA ASSEMBLY AND IMC ARGENTINA HEADQUARTERS
WE ARE BEING EVICTED, BUT WE WILL NOT MOVE, WE WILL RESIST!!!
URGENT – we call upon everybody to gather at 5 p.m. today to support us resist eviction of our house that we had established at ex-Banco Mayo building in the neighborhood of South Lezama (Suarez 1244, Buenos Aires). We summon all the political, social and human rights organizations to join us, as we need a massive presence in order to stop the eviction policy being carried out by the Mayor of the City of Buenos Aires. Mr. Anibal Ibarra.
Update of our eviction: Our comrades were not arrested, but our house has been destroyed by members of the Federal Police, who broke the entrances with hammers. All of our pertainings (both of IMC and of Lezama´s Popular Assembly) were thrown out to the street and placed on a truck, which we ignore where it is destined to. The police force was compounded of about 50 agents, dressed in both civilian clothes and also wearing uniforms.
They deployed two police cellular trucks, infantry troops, motorcycles and trucks to load eventual detainees. They quickly placed fences to avoid neighbors passing by, or trying to find out what was happening.
Both press media and our lawyers were not allowed by the police force to get in.
They evicted us, but we remain here. About 100 people urgently gathered at the doors of the ex-Bank Mayo, and we decided to stay there. In this very moment we are obstructing cars traffic in Patricios Avenue and are determined to stay here all the necessary time. We are organizing a popular mensal, as well as a festival which will last all day long.
Your presence is of utmost importance to defend this space recuperated for the people.
We count on your joining us!!!
