If you can't make the protest, then call the Diamondback or e-mail them. Contact info is below.

*In response to Diamondback's disgusting cartoon
What WE [Peace Forum, Maryland Action Collective, etc] will do as a GROUP TOMMOROW, Wed March 19:
- Meet at the Sundail on McKeldin Mall at UMCP at 3:45pm
- Make simple signs that says a simple message:
Some ideas brought up at the meeting:
"Honor Rachel Corrie"
"We Demand an Apology"
"Shame on You"

WHERE WE STAND:
- The editorial cartoon published in the DBK was anti-American
- The cartoon was undecent and casually made fun of a murdered woman
- Standard/Quality of the diamondback is extremley lowered
- Just think, Would they publish a cartoon poking fun at an israeli
bomb vicitm? Hell no... so why is it ok to poke fun at an American
dedicated to peace?

WHAT'S GONNA HAPPEN:
- We will go as a large group to the Diamondback Office in
SouthCampusDining Hall 2nd floor and demmand the following:
1) An official Editorial Apology to the family of Rachel Corrie
2) An Article, with photos Honoring Rachel
3) That the DBK tell us their standards for decency.

The author of the comic has a history of misogyny. His comics are archived on the website -- he draws Rugged Rabbit [and he draws poorly]. He advocates violence against women. The Diamondback in general has a history of offending just about everyone -- they run anti-choice ads that contain blatant lies, they run racist campustruth.org ads, they ran an editorial column a few years ago that argued that all black women are "bitches" and the list goes on.
