Indomitable Spirit, I: The Roads of Liberty.

Long, hard and tenacious has been the war moved by Requião, through state government, to exclude from Parana the parasite vampire of tolls.

It was already more than demonstrated that the state is able to maintain its roads without further burdening citizenship with the perverse and a thousand times paid tax of toll.

Many judges believe, however, that the contracts of the times of Jaime Lerner have to be observed in every way, regardless of the circumstances in which they were signed or of the controversial character of its clauses.

Outraged by the situation, determined to confront the problem to fulfill his commitment to freedom for the people of Parana, Requião ordered to fulfill the constitutional precept which guarantees to citizenship the right to transit through non-tolled highway, if desired, covering the same route of the tolled road.

These are called "The Roads of Liberty", that today are scattered throughout Paraná, ensuring our constitutional right to come and go freely, and eloquently exemplifying the true nature of character and of temperament of this extraordinary man.

One billion, five hundred million reais were applied to eight thousand, one hundred kilometers of Paraná state roads.

Indignation, courage, creativity and tenacious struggle for change and for justice. That's how Requião is.
