Donahue And Michael Moore Get Screwed By MSNBC
Tonight at 8pm was scheduled to be the long-anticipated interview of film-maker/activist Michael Moore on the Donahue show. However...
It seems that the story concerning the sniper which now takes up about 95% of the airwaves in very recents weeks has taken precedence, and therefore forced the cancelation of the program containing the interview with Michael Moore on tonight's Donahue show.
How peculiar it all is when you consider Moore's successful (if somewhat marginalized) film entitled "Bowling for Columbine" is now out in the theaters being viewed by soccer moms and football jocks all across the country. How strange it is that MSNBC has decided to trash Donahue's show tonight for the sake of airing a story which HAS ALREADY BEEN THE PRIMARY NEWS FOCUS FOR THE PAST 2 WEEKS.
Does it seem like a coincedence? Anyone who would answer "yes" is in dire need to watch Michael Moore's new documentary.
The corporate media has pissed me off horribly for quite a long time now. Now a more appropriate word might be *enraged*. I'm so furious and disgusted right now.
We need to start shifting our primary attention away from financial institutions like the IMF/World Bank, and turn it toward CNN, NBC, etc. The mainstream corporate U.S. media monopoly is a more IMMEDIATE threat to peace and social justice because they are the "middlemen" between us "regular folks" and the corporate establishment which is destroying the planet.
We've made our points countless times against capitalism and corporate imperialism. Our messages are not getting across to middle America BECAUSE OF THE CORPORATE MEDIA.
In very practical terms, the anti-globalization movement and all movements must unite to battle our most dangerous foe: the corporate media regime. It is MORE dangerous than even the WTO and the CIA (which controls what the public can and cannot learn) because they are the mouthpiece that decides what you and I may or may not learn about.
Switch from "IMF: SHUT IT DOWN!" to "CNN: SHUT IT DOWN!". It's not just some idea, it's inevitable if we are to WIN any victories.
This very subject has been brought up several times, and repeatedly it has been ignored and seemingly disregarded. It's time for that to stop.
