If Dr. King were alive today – he would be holding sit-ins at the billion dollar bailed out banks that are foreclosing people’s homes; he would be picketing to stop the budget cuts and continuing racism; speaking out against the genocidal war on Gaza; and enacting his original campaign for “jobs or an income now!”
The need to revive King’s legacy is urgent! Don’t let all of the big business companies like McDonald’s and all the rest white wash, sanitize and define the real history of that period. Let the people reclaim both the lessons and legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
On Monday, January 19th, take a step in that direction and join us for a special contingent in the annual Dr Martin Luther King Jr. parade.
Help carry banners, signs and displays. If you can’t march—you can still participate by taking a seat in the van. From the van, we will be broadcasting local hip hop talent and music—along with Dr. King’s Riverside speech.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

LOGISTICAL INFORMATION
Participants are being asked to meet at Eutaw & Dolphin Streets. Check in time is 11 A.M. The Stop Foreclosures & Evictions—Jobs or Income Now has been assigned Division 3 though that could change.
While it’s not necessarily mandatory—it would be advisable to RSVP to email address
apcbaltimore-AT-pipeline.com if you can participate with your phone number for that day so that we can keep in touch. The parade gets very crowded and confusing.
The parade route is a follows: Formation is on Eutaw Street between Dolphin Street and Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard. Parade will step off at Eutaw and Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and proceed south on Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard to disband on Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard between Baltimore & Washington Boulevard, Baltimore Street from MLK to Poppleton Street, and on Freemont Avenue between Baltimore and Fayette streets.
As you can see this is not a long march. It proceeds slowly because 100’s of people line up to watch it. For those who have never participated it is incredibly spirited, fun and infectious. We expect we will be finished by 2 P.M.
