The Theatre Project Nurtures Experimental theatre for Children: Now Registering Students for: CREATE VISIONS©

Baltimore MD: For over thirty-seven years the Theatre Project, named “Best Theatre” in 2007 by the Baltimore City Paper – has nurtured the arts in Maryland and has brought experimental European theatre to its community. A focus on children this summer includes Create Visions© . This Tuesday through Saturday workshop offers children a platform for inspired, enriching and rounded experience of the arts, led by well-known local artist and teacher, Susan Adler George. This ten-day workshop beginning on July 22nd and ending on August 2nd, introduces the collaboration of dance, movement, mask-making, costuming and creative writing into performance and production to children ages 9 – 12. Students will gain first-hand knowledge of concept to completion, as their original piece will be performed for friends, family members and visitors on the final day. Registration opens Friday. April 11th, 2008 with classes spaces slots very limited.

“In the last two years, Theatre Project has included more family-friendly programming in our productions, so we’re delighted at this opportunity to expand our services for children by offering this hand-on experience under the guidance of Theatre Project veteran and skilled artist Susan Adler George. Like my own children, Susan’s children were raised on the exciting fare Theatre Project offers. I know the affection and respect she holds for our work here, and I look forward to watching her guide young children seeking new ways to express themselves.”
-Anne Cantler Fulwiler – Theatre Project Producing Director.

Theatre Project’s: Mission:

Theatre Project -- through the presentation of a diverse array of original and experimental theatre, music, and dance -- connects the artists and audiences of Baltimore with a global community of performers. We seek to nurture those artists who are actively experimenting with new forms of expression and support both performers of international reputation and emerging local companies creating new work.
