STREET THEATRE and PRESS CONFERENCE!
Saturday, April 12, 1:00 PM
Murrow Park, outside World Bank building

Come out on Saturday to enjoy global justice street theatre and experts and activists speaking out against predatory lending practices of the IMF and World Bank, US trade policies and practices, and supporting the Jubilee Act to cancel third world debt! Colorful, passionate street theatre will address the harmful effects of US trade policy in terms of immigration.

You're welcome to bring your signs, voice, noisemakers, and passion!

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank (WB) are once again having their Spring meetings in downtown DC on April 11-13. The IMF and WB are the one-two punch of international lending, which usually brings devastation for the poor majority, a broken middle class, and increased extravagance for the wealthy few. As they convene in their closed-door meetings inside the World Bank building, activists will gather outside with the message "Another World is Possible!"

At the same time that the IMF/WB plans its meeting, one of the most significant pieces of Congressional legislation for Third World Debt, the Jubilee Act (summary below), is likely to be called to a vote very soon. The Jubilee Act is an act which would cancel the debt of qualifying poor countries to the US Government and international financial institutions. Up to FORTY countries would qualify.

NOW is the time to take action on behalf of our brothers and sisters in poor countries!

Please come out on Saturday to oppose the IMF, the World Bank, and support an end to third world debt!
