Who is WYPR President Tony Brandon?

Just a little digging into who's the man behind the attempted further corporatization of WYPR.

When WJHU was sold to become WYPR, Anthony S. "Tony" Brandon was brought in to head the station because of his long experience in commercial radio.

In May 2004 American General Media (Anthony S. Brandon, President) sold the following radio stations to Newspaper Radio Corporation (Tim Brown, Chairman/CEO) for $3,323,556

KSMT-FM/Breckenridge, CO
KIDN-FM/Hayden, CO
KKCH-FM/Glenwood Springs, CO
KSKE-FM/Vail, CO

The Bay National Bank webpage still shows Anthony S. Brandon, American General Media, Inc. as an advisory board member. Source Link.

It's not clear whether Brandon is still associated with American General Media. Their web site gives very little information. Their mission statement demonstrates they are into "delivering audiences" to be "used" to advance their client's business interests.

Mission

To enable our clients and partners to use the largest and most desirable audience we can deliver to effectively advance their business and interests.

The Center for Public Integrity has a set of pages on American General Media. Source LINK. According to CPI, American General Media is not in the top ten communications companies. It has 1 licensed television station
28 licensed radio stations in 3 states (CA, CO, NM). Others report AGM owning over 50 radio stations.

American General Media (AGM) was written up in the New Mexico Business Journal. Media owners swap sales ops at KHFM. Citadel Broadcasting Co., which had been selling commercial airtime on KHFM, has turned over the station's sales operations to American General Media, which has been responsible for programming on the radio outlet.

Well, that's enough digging for now.
