THE NYC ANARCHIST BOOKFAIR 2008

New York City, a center of anarchist life, culture, struggle, and ideas
for 150 years, hosted its first Anarchist Bookfair last year with great success. Given this success, we are pleased to announce that we will host the 2nd Anarchist Bookfair in New York City again! We are organizing a whole weekend long event with an Anarchist Film Festival, Bookfair, Radical and Anarchist Art, Talks and Panel discussions, Workshops, Skill-shares and a lot more!

The 1st Annual NYC Anarchist Book fair featured over 55 groups exhibiting anarchist books, zines, Cd's, film/video, as well as information on
organizing and other activities relating to anarchism. There where over 12 panels,
presentations and skill-shares, such as 'Anarchism and Its Aspirations', 'What Would Emma Do? An Anarchy-Feminist Round table', 'Remembering Spain, Remembering Heroes!' among many others. With an estimated 1800+ people throughout the weekend, it was a great start!

We are looking forward to making this event a success, again, with your help!

The 2nd Annual NYC Anarchist Bookfair will be held Saturday April 12, 2008,
at Judson Memorial Church, 55 Washington Square South, Manhattan. Please fill
in this form and email it back to us by FEBRUARY 15 2008, to request
vendor space at the bookfair. We will be confirming reservations for
space by FEBRUARY 15. Payment must be received by MARCH 15 2008 to confirm reservations (see below for payment methods).

If you, or someone you know, are a publisher, record label, or film/video collective and have released a book / film / recording recently you may use
this space to propose a speaker and/or screening for the bookfair:

* We have a limited number of slots for panels and speaker
presentations, which will be held Saturday April 12th, and Sunday April 13th;
film/video screenings will be held the day before, Fri., Apr. 11th.

Tables and chairs will be provided. Vendors are expected to set up and
break down their exhibits and clean up any debris in their exhibit area.
Set-up hours: 8:30am-10:30am. Breakdown and clean-up hours: 7pm-9pm.

Vendors who NEED to have material shipped should contact us for arrangement details.

Park between Thompson and Sullivan Streets. Take the A, C, E, F (and B
or V on weekdays only) to West 4th Street station; the R to 8th
Street-NYU; or the 1 train to Christopher Street-Sheridan Square. The
M1, M2, M3, M5, M6 and M8 bus lines also serve the area.

The Bookfair is a two-day event and time slots are limited, so please submit your proposal as soon as possible!

We will give preference to proposals that include voices typically underrepresented at mainstream and activist conferences alike.
We are particularly interested in local people presenting on issues of particular relevance to anarchists and other activists in the NYC area.
