Poems Against War magazine is inviting one and all to its publication party Friday night, at the Load of Fun Gallery in Baltimore, for a night of music, poetry, and activism from 8PM to 11PM.
Poems Against War: A Journal of Poetry and Action has published its sixth issue on the theme of "Music & Heroes" in a nice 48-page perfect bound edition, available online, through retailers, and through
www.poemsagainstwar.com.
The reading will kick off at 8PM with opening remarks and readings from the fun and insightful poetry of Allen Ginsberg. Riot Folk folk artist Ryan Harvey will play at 8:30, followed by soul folk singer Jasaga. Tom Swiss will join poets Alan Barysh, Brian Langston, Gregg Mosson, and others throughout the night from 9PM-11PM.
Donations at the door are suggested at $4. Funds will be split between Women in Black (a peace group), Poems Against War the journal, and the radical newspaper the Baltimore Indypendent Reader.
Representatives from Women in Black and the Baltimore Independent Reader will be on hand to discuss to current peace-related activities.
The Load of Fun is located at 120 W. North Avenue, Baltimore, MD. The event lasts from 8PM to 11PM.
