(by our fake-plane-attack-mass-murder-event standards, Ruslan & Lyudmila is slow paced and/or feels long and is filled with unconvincing special effects. however, there are some great elements to this bizarre, daring work.

The soundtrack is the best part of the show. there are parts of the soundtrack that are quite memorable, a joy to hear.

visually, Ruslan & Lyudmila is frequently odd and overall, uneven. that's part of the special charm it has.

On the plus side, the story gives us all sorts of insights into carnal lust and human insanity. in addition, the cast is very good. This film comes from spirited artists working together to create a genuinely mad spectacle.

The great warrior Ruslan is about to consummate his marriage with resourceful Lyudmila when she's suddenly swept away by wizardry. expected the unexpected to follow.)
