Free Special Event! ACLU-MD & MICA Present: “Constitution Day: This is What Democracy Looks Like”

with Marc Steiner moderating
Maryland Institute College of Art and the American Civil Liberties Union of Maryland present Constitution Day, an annual commemoration of the ratification of the U.S. Constitution. This year’s theme, Free Speech: This is What Democracy Looks Like, examines freedom of the press, freedom of artistic expression, and censorship in its many forms.
Featured speakers for the event are Ralph Nader, Helen Thomas, and John Waters. The symposium will be moderated by Marc Steiner.
In addition to the symposium, Constitution Day features a student art exhibition and films exploring issues of free speech in a democratic society. All events are free and open to the public. Special reservations for the symposium are available, which will allow early access to Falvey Hall before doors open to the public at 5:15 pm.
