- Greenpeace accuses the Japanese nuclear industry of lying about the extent of damage to the world's biggest nuclear plant in Kashiwazaki, Japan, shut down indefinitely after an earthquake. - President Bush has threatened to veto an expansion of the decade-old State Child Health Insurance Plan, which covers nearly 7 million children. - After two years, tomato pickers with The Coalition of Immokalee Workers in Florida won an agreement with McDonald's to double their wages. Tomato pickers were hauling two tons of tomatoes a day to make about $60, or $10,000 annually.
