The U.S. the House of Representatives recently voted on a bill that would have mandated the withdrawal of most U.S. forces from Iraq within 180 days. The bill was defeated 171-255.

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer led 59 Democrats in joining almost all Republicans in voting no. To their credit, House Speaker Pelosi and Maryland neighbors VanHollen (MD-8th) and Wynn (MD-4th) voted to end the war.

Democrat Steny Hoyer is the peace movement's public enemy number one. He will be the commencement speaker at the University of Maryland's graduation ceremony this Sunday evening, May 20, at 7:00 pm. We need to dog that schmuck.

From Hoyer's website after the measure to end the war was defeated: "...We fully funded the troops, in fact we gave more money for the fight against terrorism. We want to see success..."

We will protest Hoyer while he gives the commencement address at the Comcast Center in College Park. We'll be there at 6:30 pm.

Free shuttle bus service will be provided from the College Park Metro Station on the Green Line to the Comcast Center between 5:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and from Comcast Center to College Park Metro station between 8:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. on Sunday.

or
"Anyone but Hoyer in '08"
