"CONGRESSWOMEN SAY NO TO WAR"
WHEN: 7:30-9:30 pm, Thursday, March 8th
WHERE: Busboys and Poets, 2021 14th St NW at V Street, Langston Room
WHAT: On March 8, International Women’s Day, the peace movement will hear from Reps. Lee and Waters about their efforts to "fully fund the withdrawal" of troops from Iraq. The Congresswomen will address what they see as opportunities to stop the war through the Supplemental and defense authorization debates and votes, as well as the challenges they face in a divided Congress. Leaders of the peace movement will also share their strategies to pressure members of Congress not “to buy Bush's war” and to start funding the return of the troops. It will be moderated by Gael Murphy, Co-founder of CODEPINK: Women for Peace.
Join us for this intimate gathering as we explore inside/outside strategies to end the war in Iraq in 2007.
