Photos From Anti-War Rally, DC 1-27-07
On Saturday January 27, 2007 I observed and took part in a national movement towards peace and bringing the troups home. Three photos follow.
We circled the Congress, because the Congress has the constitutional power to defund the occupation of Iraq, and bring the troops home.
My friends and I arrived around 11 a.m. and I left around 5 p.m., and during my time there I saw a great diversity of Americans. For the first time in a while, there were more adults than youth at a rally. Veterans for peace, Code Pink activists, young and old, union-led groups, family members of veterans . . . many showed up.
Being around these people was very refreshing. A better world is possible.
