"Jung (War) in the Land of the Mujaheddin" follows the efforts of an Italian medical team to treat civilian casualties in Afghanistan and opens Western eyes to the reality behind the term "humanitarian aid." Directed by Fabrizio Lazzaretti.
- First prize at the International Documentary Film Festival in Amsterdam in 2000
- Human Rights Watch prize as best film in 2001
- Vancouver International Film Festival prize for best documentary
Emergency is an independent, neutral and nonpolitical humanitarian organization established to provide care to civilian victims of war and of land mines. All Emergency facilities are designed, built and managed by specialized international staff committed to training local medical personnel.
