(Elia Kazan's "Panic" starts out very well, feels slow midway and has a strong finish. one of the most striking elements of this film is simply the face that Jack Palance wore. how could anyone have such sharp features? Palance had a face that ranks among the most interesting ever put in movies.

Noir-king Richard Widmark, Paul Douglas and a young (and thin) Barbara Bel Geddes also appear. Widmark is solid as ever, playing a health official trying to stop an epidemic.


I like how Kazan directed the early murder scene. you don't see images like this in today's matrix movies.)
