(almost an especially great film. The Rider Named Death tells a great story. Great writing. Great cast. Great locations. Great sets. It just doesn't have enough direction. While the direction is adequate, one wishes that Bernardo Bertolucci or Peter Weir had made this film.

the top three performers are outstanding. Andrei Panin, the star is very good. However, the two leading women are dazzling. Kseniya Rappoport as Erna is like watching Meryl Streep. Then there's Anastasiya Makeyeva, who somehow hasn't become a big international star despite her unparalled beauty. she's visual eye-candy gone bezerk.

this movie is a lot of fun. I may have to see it a few more times.)
