(Claude Lelouch's masterpiece about a notorious gangster who kidnaps a bank employee's young son. visually, it is amazing. Lelouch's ability to tell a story with images, particularly establishing a very cool, detached point of view, is remarkable.

this film compares to rare Hitchcock, with some Robert Bresson mixed in. Apparently, Tarantino copied a lot of it with "Pulp Fiction". However, Tarantino can't hold a candle to Lelouche.

"The Crook" is one of the most interesting meditations on crime ever put on cinema.)
