Emergency Counter-Demonstration to Demand an End to U.S.-Israeli War Against Palestine and Lebanon!

On Tuesday, July 25, at 10:00 a.m., at the Holocaust Memorial on 500 East Lombard Street, the American-Israel Public Affairs Committee, the Baltimore Board of Rabbis, and the Baltimore Zionist District is sponsoring a "solidarity rally for Israel." Maryland governor Bob Ehrlich and Baltimore mayor Martin O'Malley are scheduled to speak at the rally. Showing solidarity with Israel at this time means supporting the slaughter of hundreds of civilians in Lebanon and Palestine. We must speak out and demand that our government officials – including Ehrlich and O’Malley – not be complicit in Israel’s crimes against humanity! Join us on July 25, at 10 A.M., at the corner of Gay and Lombard streets, for a counter-demonstration and show that Baltimore does NOT stand with Israel as it wages its war of aggression against Palestine and Lebanon. Bring signs, bring noise-makers, spread the word.
Please forward widely.

On Tuesday, July 25, at 10:00 a.m., at the Holocaust Memorial on 500 East Lombard Street, the American-Israel Public Affairs Committee, the Baltimore Board of Rabbis, and the Baltimore Zionist District is sponsoring a "solidarity rally for Israel." The Associated Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore is advertising this rally as a show of solidarity that "Baltimore Stands with Israel." Maryland governor Bob Ehrlich and Baltimore mayor Martin O'Malley are scheduled to speak at the rally.

Showing solidarity with Israel at this time means supporting the slaughter of hundreds of civilians in Lebanon and Palestine. It means supporting Israel's starvation and strangulation of Palestine and Lebanon. Israel is not acting in self-defense. Rather, Israel is using the flimsy pretext of the capture of three Israeli soldiers to wage a multi-faceted war against all the people of Palestine and Lebanon and continue its colonial war of aggression and occupation. Close to 400 Lebanese and 100 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli Occupation Forces in the last three weeks alone. Nearly one-third of the casualties are estimated to be children. The people of southern Lebanon are being told by Israel to "evacuate" so that Israel can continue to unapologetically bomb, destroy, and invade Lebanon. People cannot evacuate because all major roads, bridges, and gas stations have been bombed. Estimates are that almost 1 million Lebanese have been displaced. Israel is able to wage this colonial war of aggression with the blessing and funding of the United States, which provides Israel with billions of dollars in military weaponry and technology each year. All of this is funded, in other words, out of the pockets of U.S. taxpayers. We must speak out and demand that our government officials – including Ehrlich and O’Malley – not be complicit in Israel’s crimes against humanity! We must speak out to defend Palestine and Lebanon from brutal, racist aggression!

Join us on July 25, at 10 A.M., for a counter-demonstration and show that Baltimore does NOT stand with Israel as it wages its war of aggression against Palestine and Lebanon. Bring signs, bring noise-makers, spread the word. Join us in demanding an end to the US-Israeli war against Palestine and Lebanon!

Green Party Candidate for Governor Ed Boyd will also be present to support the call to end the war on Palestine and Lebanon.

If you are unable to make it to the July 25 counter-demo in Baltimore, please be sure to attend the March on Washington to Defend the People of Palestine and Lebanon on Saturday, August 12th, at the White House in Washington, D.C. For more information, visit: answer.pephost.org/site/News2.
