Bush Administration Fast-Tracks Formation of North American Union
A March 31 press release on the White House website, under the title “Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America: Progress,” announced the formation of the NACC. The press release noted that the NACC would meet annually “with security and prosperity Ministers and will engage with senior government officials on an ongoing basis.” The “SPP Ministers” were not identified. Moreover, the term “Ministers” was an unusual reference to the U.S. government, especially when the founding fathers had taken such pains to rid the U.S. of all terminology that could be reminiscent of monarchical systems such as the British royalty against whom the Revolutionary War was aimed. Evidently, the reference was to Gutierrez, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, and Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff, the three cabinet officers to whom the extensive SPP working groups organized in DOC are now reporting, as well as their cabinet level counterparts in Mexico and Canada.
The White House press release references no U.S. law or treaty under which the NACC was organized. Yet the press release notes that:
We are convinced that regulatory cooperation advances the productivity and competitiveness of our nations and helps to protect our health, safety and environment. For instance, cooperation on food safety will protect the public while at the same time facilitate the flow of goods. We affirm our commitment to strengthen regulatory cooperation in this and other key sectors and to have our central regulatory agencies complete a trilateral regulatory cooperation framework by 2007.
The Council of the Americas provided the more detail regarding the June 15, 2006 meeting of the NACC than was found on U.S. government websites. A NACC membership list found on the Council of the Americas’ website lists the U.S. members as coming form the following corporations (listed in alphabetic order): Campbell Soup Company, Chevron, Ford, FedEx, General Electric, General Motors, Kansas City Southern Industries, Lockheed Martin Corporation; Merck; Mittal Steel USA; New York Life; United Parcel Service; Wal-Mart; and Whirlpool.

I began researching the mainstream media coverage of the controversy regarding the attacks of 9/11/2001, when reading an article in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Newspaper, dated June 29th, 2006. It was titled, "Sept. 11 claim stirs UW probe -- Instructor says U.S. planned the attacks to provoke war." This led to my discovery of some wild conspiracy theorists that endanger our government and media establishments, with quite frankly insane assertions. Israel to UN: Lebanon declared war
Israel filed a severe complaint to the United Nation Wednesday, which declared Hizbullah's attack on Israel and kidnapping of two IDF soldiers was "an act of war." Israeli Ambassador to the UN, Danny Gillerman, charged during a press conference that Lebanon has no less than declared war on Israel. With that, Israel has not requested the UN Security Council convene on the issue.

'Hounded By The FBI'
A banker found dead and believed linked to a US fraud probe involving NatWest [and Enron] was allegedly "hounded by the FBI". Married father-of-two Neil Coulbeck, 53, had gone missing from his home in Woodford Green, east London, on Thursday. Civil rights group Liberty director Shami Chakrabarti, after Mr Coulbeck's body was found today, said America's Federal Bureau of Investigation had "hounded" the man. Mr Coulbeck was Head of Group Treasury at the Royal Bank of Scotland and is thought to have been a possible witness in the NatWest Three case. The discovery comes as MPs debate the controversial decision to extradite three British bankers - dubbed the NatWest Three - to the US to face charges over the scandal. The men, who previously worked for NatWest, are accused of taking part in a multi-million pound fraud connected to the collapse of Enron.

A body found in north-east London has been identified as a banker who was questioned by the FBI about the Enron fraud case. The journalist who first identified the intelligence officer at the center of the C.I.A. leak case says he later voluntarily identified three sources to the prosecutor in the case, who, he says, had already learned of his conversations with each of the three. The Senate voted 87 to 11 Tuesday night to create a new federal entity to replace the much-criticized Federal Emergency Management Agency. US combat casualties rise to 20,886
The US occupation of Iraq suffered 91 military combat casualties in the week ending July 12, bringing the total since the invasion to 20,886 including 18,874 wounded and 2,012 dead. US media keep the public's focus on the much lower figure of 2,544 deaths, which includes 532 (up one last week) deaths from what the Pentagon classifies as "non hostile " causes. The families of those dead do not receive the same benefits and support as those killed in combat.
