United Workers Association
The United Workers organizes Maryland's poor to secure the human right to freedom from poverty.
The United Workers organizes Maryland's low-wage workers for freedom from poverty by securing human rights for all. We are a poor people's human rights organization led by the poor ourselves. The United Workers is a member of the Poor People's Economic Human Rights Campaign and is an active participant in the University of the Poor's School of Labor. We also work closely with our friends and allies in the labor and progressive movements. Major supporters include: AFSCME, Catholic Campaign for Human Development and the Public Welfare Foundation. The United Workers is currently organizing the low-wage workers at Camden Yards, the city's largest employer of poverty-wage day labor.
