In 2004 the first Clamor Music Festival was held in 32 cities across the United States featuring over 150 performers with the common goal of
celebrating independent media. Now we're ready to do it again...and we need your help!
Grab your calendars. The 2006 Clamor Music Festival will take place on Saturday, October 21st, and will again feature shows all over the country. Each show will be a dual fundraiser for Clamor and a local social justice/arts/independent media organization in each hosting city. The
festival is based on a few basic principles we believe all media should follow: accessibility, community control, and mutual aid. But above all
it's just going to be a lot of fun.
Here's how you can get in on the action: We are looking for folks who will be able to organize a successful show in their city. We hope that the
shows will reflect Clamor's diverse readership. The show could be any combination of rock, hip-hop, drone, electro-pop, experimental, classical, punk, jazz, you name it. Basically, anything goes. As the fest approaches we will provide organizers with promotional materials and free copies of a special edition of Clamor just for the CMF.
If you or someone you know is interested in contributing to this event, and will commit to organizing a show for this year's Clamor Music
Festival, then this is the time to put together a proposal!
Proposals should include:
- Your full name and contact information
- Your city and name(s)/contact information of potential venue(s)
- An estimation of how many people will attend the show
- A general description of the music/potential performers
- The name and description of the local arts/media organization to be jointly benefited
Please e-mail your proposals to Matt Dineen:
