Reading between the lines of the article, I see something very interesting. The author speculates that the THC in marijuana may protect pot smokers from carcinogenic tars in the smoke, as an explanation for the lack of a statistically significant association between cannabis consumption and lung cancer. I think that there is a much bigger question here.

Could the THC or other possible anti-carcinogens in marijuana decrease the risk of lung cancer for cigarette addicts? More research is needed! (Larry)
